VHCBS Picture Day - April 21st

VHCBS Parents,

Please save the date!

Picture Day for the 2024 season will take place on Sunday, April 21st and will be conducted by VIP (Visual Image Photography). Pictures will take place at VHAC (307 Nike Parkway). Check-in will be held near the concession stand/bathrooms 10 minutes before your assigned time. More info regarding specific team picture schedules will be shared/posted approximately two weeks prior. In the event of inclement weather, pictures will take place at our indoor facility, The Den (901 E Orchard St, Unit E – Mundelein).

Players should come dressed in full uniform. For travel teams, each coach/team will decide which uniform to wear. If you want your player to have a bat or glove in their individual picture, then please send that along with your player. All players will take a team picture and an individual picture. Ahead of picture day, we will share info on how to register and order pictures through VIP (Visual Image Photography). No payment is due on the day of pictures.

If you have any questions, please reach out to your coach or your program commissioner:

Community Baseball - Emily Cadwell (community_baseball@vhcbs.com)

Community Softball - Lauren Ayvazian (community_softball@vhcbs.com)

Travel Baseball – Xavier Bautista (travel_baseball@vhcbs.com)

BASEBALL & SOFTBALL EVALUATIONS 3/3!

We will be holding player evaluations on Sunday, March 3rd.

What?  Player evaluations help coaches construct rosters for competitively matched teams.  Please have your child attend this event.  If your child is not available for evaluations, you don't need to do anything further, and your child will still be given a roster spot on a team.

Where?  Evaluations will take place at the Vernon Hills High School field house and gym.  We will have a table set up outside the gym to check your athlete in.

When? March 3rd; see times below.

TBall & Single A:  There is NO evaluation at this level and will do our best to honor friend requests. Coaches will be in touch with more information in the coming weeks.

Double A (Grades 1-2):  9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure time for check in.

Triple A (Grades 3-4): 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure time for check in.

Minors & Majors (Grades 5-8):  11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure time for check in.

Freshman (Grades 1-2):  There is NO evaluation at this level and will do our best to honor friend requests. Coaches will be in touch with more information in the coming weeks.

Sophomore (Grades 3-4):  1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure time for check in.

Juniors (Grades 5-6) and Seniors (Grades 7-12):  2:15 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Please arrive 10-15 minutes early to ensure time for check in.

Equipment:  Have your child bring their glove, helmet, and bat to use.  If they do not have a helmet or bat, we will have some available to use.

Volunteers Needed:  If you indicated that you are interested in coaching this year, we will be reaching out to you soon.  Also, please consider volunteering for Player Evaluations on March 3rd by emailing Emily Cadwell (Vernon Hills Community Baseball Commissioner; community_baseball@vhcbs.com)or Lauren Ayvazian (Vernon Hills Community Softball Commissioner; community_softball@vhcbs.com).  We could really use your help, whether you are available for one or all evaluations.

Other Information:

  • Sports 11 will do a uniform fitting for your child between February 26th and March 6th at their store in Libertyville.  Just let the Sports 11 staff member know that your child is there for the uniform fitting for Vernon Hills Community Baseball.  Uniform fittings are mandatory so please plan to complete this no later than March 6th.

  • Please encourage other families to register their child for baseball.  We are making a final push to get more players.

  • You will likely hear from your team's coach no later than March 15, 2024.  This will give us sufficient time to construct rosters.

  • Baseball & Softball practices will begin the first week of April, weather permitting.
